Apprenticeship
Are you about to graduate from high school and interested in an apprenticeship?
At our Reinheim site we offer training in the following professions:
• Pharmacist (m/f/d)
• Chemical laboratory assistant (m/f/d)
• Mechatronics technician (m/f/d)
All three apprenticeships have a duration of 3.5 years and are completed in cooperation with Provadis Frankfurt or ProRegion Pittler in Darmstadt. If you perform very well, you have the option of shortening your training to three years. There are good chances of being taken on after completion of the training.
At our Dessau site, we offer training in the following professions:
• Pharmacist (m/f/d)
• Chemical laboratory assistant (m/f/d)
Both apprenticeships have a duration of 3.5 years and are completed in cooperation with IDT Biologika GmbH. If you perform very well, you have the option of shortening your training to three years. After completion of the apprenticeship, there are also good chances of being taken on by the company.

Pharmaceutical Technician
You don't always want to have to read the label and consult your doctor when it comes to medications, but want to be the one who manufactures the drugs yourself? As a future pharmacist, you will learn about the entire manufacturing process and benefit from a diverse training program. A young, dynamic team with a wide range of applications in production awaits you.
Chemical Laboratory Technician
Chemistry was your favorite subject at school and you enjoy working in a physical-chemical laboratory? Then you've come to the right place! As a future chemical laboratory technician, you will help to control our product range of pharmaceuticals, medicine, cosmetics and food supplements through precise analyses, quality controls and measurements. You will benefit from a varied training program.
Mechatronics Technician
It is no longer possible to imagine modern production plants without electronic components and controls. That's why skilled workers are needed who can assemble, repair and maintain both the mechanical and electronic parts of machines and systems. Do you want to be one of them? Then you will soon be working with mechanical, electronic, pneumatic and control technology components - and develop into a sought-after all-rounder at our plant in Reinheim.
Dual study program

Join us as a dual student and experience how exciting the working world at Merz can be. We offer the following dual degree programs in cooperation with Mainz University of Applied Sciences at our Frankfurt location:
• Combined studies in business administration with an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk (m/f/d)
• Combined studies in business administration with training as an industrial clerk (m/f/d) - focus on accounting & controlling
• Combined studies in business informatics with training as a management assistant for digitalisation management (m/f/d)
Combined studies in business administration with an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk
This dual study programme combines a commercial apprenticeship with business studies and allows you to gain both practical work experience and an academic degree. You will complete a varied training programme as an industrial clerk and work in various departments (e.g. Marketing, Purchasing, Finance, Human Resources). There you will learn about processes and procedures at Merz and work on a wide variety of projects to actively support the day-to-day business. Vocational school theory is taught through in-house lessons. After 6 months of practical work, you will attend lectures in business administration at the University of Applied Sciences in Mainz on Thursdays and Saturdays. Your international competence can be enhanced by a stay abroad. You will complete the Chamber of Industry and Commerce examination for industrial clerks after three years, and the dual study programme leading to a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in business administration after 4 years.
Combined studies in business administration with training as an industrial clerk - focus on accounting & controlling
This dual study programme combines a commercial apprenticeship with business studies and allows you to have both practical work experience and an academic degree. You will complete a varied training programme as an industrial clerk and work in various departments (e.g. marketing, purchasing, finance, human resources). There you will learn about processes and procedures at Merz and work on various projects to actively support the daily business. In the main focus, you will acquire more knowledge in business administration, national and international accounting, company taxation and controlling. From the 5th semester onwards, you will then focus on a department in which you will also write your Bachelor's thesis. Vocational school theory is taught through in-company lessons. After 6 months of practical training, you will attend lectures in business administration at Mainz University of Applied Sciences on Thursdays and Saturdays. Your international competence can be enhanced by a stay abroad. You will complete the Chamber of Industry and Commerce examination for industrial clerks after three years, and the dual study programme leading to a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in business administration after 4 years.
Combined studies in business informatics with training as a management assistant for digitalisation management
This dual study programme combines a commercial apprenticeship with a business informatics degree and allows you to gain both practical work experience and an academic degree. During your training as a digitalisation management assistant, everything revolves around the development and management of information systems for handling complex business processes. During your practical work in the company, you will work on a wide variety of projects within the IT department. This is supplemented by insights into marketing, supply chain management and purchasing. You will be taught all of the training content in weekly vocational school classes. At the same time, you will attend lectures in business informatics at Mainz University of Applied Sciences on Thursdays and Saturdays. Your international competence can be enhanced by a stay abroad. You will complete the Chamber of Industry and Commerce examination to become a Businessperson for Digitalisation Management after three years, and the dual study programme leading to a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Business Informatics after approx. 3.5 years.
Student internships and traineeships
Would you like to put what you learned in theory into practice and work on tasks independently?
At Merz, we offer you the opportunity to complete an internship in one of our various departments as part of your studies. Whether it's a mandatory or voluntary internship, we'll be happy to accompany you on your first career steps.
If you would like to gain practical experience for a longer period of time alongside your studies, you can also join us as a working student. To help you balance your studies and work, we offer flexible working hours with a maximum of 20 hours per week during the semester.
The Reinheim site offers internships, student traineeships and the possibility of a practice-based bachelor thesis in the following areas:
